Bosnia and Herzegovina. A critical case study of europeanization.
„Europeanization in a post-conflict setting is a topic of great interest in the fields of international relations theory and European studies. As a critical inquiry on the topic, this book offers a new perspective on the conceptualization of EU?s strategies in the post-Yugoslav space, by focusing on the „special” case of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The analysis provides an interpretive analysis of policy narratives that tackles the way EU conditionality has been perceived by the main actors involved in the process, which is an innovative and rigouros contribution to the Europeanization research. I find the study very useful for both policymakers and academics in the field of EU Enlargement policy and the emerging challenges in the Western Balkans.”

East versus West: When Politics Collide with Economics
The main objective of the present study is to develop a comprehensive analysis on the decision making process within the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Organization (NATO) regarding their foreign and security policies with a special focus on their policies occurring at their Eastern frontier.
The importance of the theme lies in the fact that, although both organizations have stipulated t heir desire to be global actors, their immediate Eastern frontier has been for years an unstable and unsecure region that reminded us about the interplay of the Cold War between the East and the West.
At the same time these negative dynamics reveal a deficient partnership between the EU and NATO on one side and the Russian Federation on the other which in turn affects their international recognized legitimacy and their status (Russia wants to be recognized as a great power and to be part of a multilateral international system, NATO is still redefining itself in terms of threats responses mechanisms and the EU wants to be recognized as a global power). We live in an Age of great changes and even greater dilemmas.
How are we to accommodate our national allegiances and need for security in an increasingly poly-scripted and compressed world, in which borders become meaningless and responsibility for common good has to be pursued with an eye not only on the promontory of our national identity, but on Earth as a whole?
How will we, as individuals and communities, be able to successfully negotiate through our inevitable diverging identities and conflicting belongings?
And, finally, how will we succeed in mastering the already inevitable, permanent proximity to the many types of „Otherness’ that claim and occupy space, ideological positions and social roles?
These have been the greatest interrogations that the book, dedicated to identity, otherness and violence is set to address. Whether the future will validate the ideological turning from geographies of difference to maps of poly-chronic and poly-scripted sameness remains to be seen.

Rezultatele unei cercetări sociologice calitativeLucrarea de față reprezintă o secțiune dintr-o amplă cercetare cantitativă „Dimensiuni ale malpraxisului în România. Analiza și diagnoza prevalenței epuizării profesionale în rândul medicilor și a tendințelor de migrație” (peste 8000 de medici), realizată în 2023, la inițiativa și cu sprijinul Colegiului Medicilor din România. Dimensiunea calitativă a cercetării a reușit să sondeze în profunzime și să contureze o imagine clară a percepțiilor medicilor privind cadrul legislativ care operează în sănătate, dar și disfuncționalitățile sistemului de sănătate românesc și ale sistemului social, în ansamblul său. Concluziile formulate sunt susținute de datele colectate și pot reprezenta un punct de plecare pentru formularea unor programe naționale de sănătate coerente, care să vină cu un sprijin real pentru pacient și pentru profesioniștii din sănătate.

Women’s rights are not gifts, neither environmental justice. They are the result of solidarity among individuals and organizations turned into public actions and social movements. Central and Eastern Europe are relevant new comers of the last two decades and a half in the efforts to build a just society for women and men, for the future generations, as well as a bearable world for other beings.
The scholars who are writing in this volume are young and they care. Their life and their intellectual and civic experience coincide with the rebirth of the democratic citizenship.
The authors are offering us not just significant findings and critiques concerning the new social movements in their countries, but also a solid inspiration for the future developments of women’s and environmental movements.

East versus West: When Politics Collide with Economics
The main objective of the present study is to develop a comprehensive analysis on the decision making process within the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Organization (NATO) regarding their foreign and security policies with a special focus on their policies occurring at their Eastern frontier.
The importance of the theme lies in the fact that, although both organizations have stipulated t heir desire to be global actors, their immediate Eastern frontier has been for years an unstable and unsecure region that reminded us about the interplay of the Cold War between the East and the West.
At the same time these negative dynamics reveal a deficient partnership between the EU and NATO on one side and the Russian Federation on the other which in turn affects their international recognized legitimacy and their status (Russia wants to be recognized as a great power and to be part of a multilateral international system, NATO is still redefining itself in terms of threats responses mechanisms and the EU wants to be recognized as a global power). How will we, as individuals and communities, be able to successfully negotiate through our inevitable diverging identities and conflicting belongings?
And, finally, how will we succeed in mastering the already inevitable, permanent proximity to the many types of „Otherness’ that claim and occupy space, ideological positions and social roles?
These have been the greatest interrogations that the book, dedicated to identity, otherness and violence is set to address. Whether the future will validate the ideological turning from geographies of difference to maps of poly-chronic and poly-scripted sameness remains to be seen.

Rezultatele unei cercetări sociologice calitativeLucrarea de față reprezintă o secțiune dintr-o amplă cercetare cantitativă „Dimensiuni ale malpraxisului în România. Analiza și diagnoza prevalenței epuizării profesionale în rândul medicilor și a tendințelor de migrație” (peste 8000 de medici), realizată în 2023, la inițiativa și cu sprijinul Colegiului Medicilor din România. Dimensiunea calitativă a cercetării a reușit să sondeze în profunzime și să contureze o imagine clară a percepțiilor medicilor privind cadrul legislativ care operează în sănătate, dar și disfuncționalitățile sistemului de sănătate românesc și ale sistemului social, în ansamblul său. Concluziile formulate sunt susținute de datele colectate și pot reprezenta un punct de plecare pentru formularea unor programe naționale de sănătate coerente, care să vină cu un sprijin real pentru pacient și pentru profesioniștii din sănătate.
